FILIPPO MAZZORANA
The culture of wine is so engrained in Italy that the people follow not only the wines but the winemaker.
Our winemaker has a deep following and knowledge of all the varieties of grapes found in the Tuscan region. For this reason we are not a winery people visits, but a winery the people return to. Filippo Mazzorana, a native Tuscan, embodies the characteristics of antiquated methods and new endeavors. These he has blended seamlessly, to conjure wine almost unfathomable to the palate. His competence in both agronomy and oenology, serves him most best in the climate that we call Tuscany.
In fact, the project launched in 2021 by the Tuscan winemaker is called Generazione Sangiovese, it is aimed at enhancing the grapes at the base of the most prestigious regional wine producing counties of Chianti (Chianti, Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino, Nobile di Montepulciano, Morellino di Scansano and multiple Supertuscans.)
In addition to the Sangiovese enhancement project, Mazzorana directly takes care of the winery’s production on its path to producing the perfect wine. The Poggio ai Laghi project comes after heterogeneous experiences in which he has processed wines from Italy, France and Spain.
As the general manager of Cantine Borghi di San Vincenzo in Torri, he selects DOC and DOCG wines inspired by his vast experience. This allows him to modulate nature and territory in a virtuous and expressive way.
